My First Homemade Knife
My First Homemade Knife This was my first attempt at a homemade knife. It became a fathers day present to my dad. It turned out well and was really designed out of necessity. I had one piece of steel and it was an awkward shape with holes already in it. I made the design around the holes and it turned out to be a really comfortable reverse grip fighter. The hole in the middle was one of the pre-drilled hole and doesn't serve a real purpose I just thought I'd incorporate it into the design. The steel is a cheap stainless. (This was before I understood the importance of steel choice and different steel attributes) I heat treated it myself in my homemade foundry and quenched in motor oil. It was a crude beginning but was the foundational step to becoming what I am now. There are a few more pictures below.
