The Hybrid Tanto

Picture
I have always loved the look of tantos and some of the functionality. I always had a problem with the shallow chisel grind you often find on the flat of the blade. The chisel grind is great for the tip because it has a very strong penetration ability. The flat does not lend well to edge retention and longevity and let's be honest I've never been the biggest fan of a double or single bevel chisel grind. (Matter of opinion.. it has its uses). The Hybrid Tanto features 440C stainless steel with dual grinds. The tip is the traditional chisel grind with a deep hollow grind on the flats for increased edge performance. I love the look that is made when the two grinds meet. The handles are black G10 with white G10 Liners, and stainless pins and tubes. The sheath is .09 kydex with a satin finish.
